Summer fun has started at Snow Summit. We are currently in our early season operations (Friday through Sunday), Closed Monday through Thursday. Starting Friday, June 14, Snow Summit is open for daily operations through Labor Day Monday.
Currently we have Going Green, Small Wonder, Turtle Trail, Westridge, Party Wave and Miracle Mile mountain bike trails open. We also have the Log Chute hiking trail open for daily hikes to the Skyline Restaurant at the top of chair 1.
We are constructing Globo Gym, Average Joes and our base area activation for mountain bikes.
We have received approval from the U.S. Forest Service to start construction of new trails on our permit area. The first new trail we will build is the Bobsled hiking trail. This trail is for hikers who want to access the top of the mountain without riding the lift. The trail will be aligned on the east side of the canyon under chair 1 and will have views of the lake and Valley.
The trail will be open to the public and no ticket is required to hike it. We will close the Log Chute hiking trail and divert all traffic up Bobsled when construction is completed.
The second new trail we are building this is 10-ply, an advanced downhill mountain biking-specific trail on the east side of the resort. This trail will mainly follow the alignment of the current Log Chute hiking trail but will be designed and created as a good old school, technical downhill trail. We expect to complete the build by the Fourth of July, and we expect to use this trail for the downhill race in the Fox U.S. Open of Mountain Biking in September.

The Forest Service has also allowed the resort to create a new section of trail that will make access to Pirates and Falline trails safer. This connecter will start at the snowmaking holding ponds at the top of the resort and tie into Pirates. This will keep conflicts between trail users and vehicles currently trying to share a service road.
We plan on making the new Pirates Connector to have the same great flow as the current trails in that area.
Please come enjoy summer at Big Bear Mountain Resorts, where we work hard, celebrate good times, build real relationships and create lifelong memories.
